Nepali Students Association MSUM (Minnesota State University Moorhead)
Our ongoing ‘Stationery Project’ recently received a lifeline through Nepali Students Association MSUM (Minnesota State University Moorhead). The NSA team of MSUM informed us about an event - Nepal Yatra: A Journey that was going to be held on March 3, 2007 at the CMU Ballroom of Minnesota State University Moorhead, Minnesota. It was the third annual Nepali Cultural show organized for the very first time by Nepali Students Association of MSUM. On the lookout for a deserving cause they stumbled over our website and contacted us for more information, if possible an audio/visual presentation which could be presented at the event to generate funds. With the help of the members of Nepali Students Association MSUM the silent-art-auction, held during the event, generated a profit of more than $900. Future Funds received Rs. 163,963 from the association on October 7, 2007.
A big thank you to all the members of Nepali Students Association MSUM from Future Funds and from the students of Shreekesh Chandra Primary School for their generous contribution!
The Stationery Project is an ongoing project at Shreekesh Chandra, where we are providing the children with periodic supply of stationary items, school bags, uniforms and drinking water. The donation by Nepali Students Association MSUM will be used in the project as oulined below:-

* The management of Shreekesh and the local community members are discussing the possibility of re-locating the schools to another location with a better environment. The school right now operates from a temple baha, and does not even have proper partitions for class rooms. The children don’t even have a proper toilet. The school is looking at raising fund for infrastructure development in a new location in which case, our contribution will go towards the same. In case the relocating does not happen, we are also looking at the possibility of building a toilet in the present location. If not, the amount will be carried on to the next academic year from the stationary project.
We would like to congratulate all the parties concerned for the success of Nepal Yatra: A Journey and are extremely thankful to members of Nepali Students Association MSUM who helped generate funds for Future Funds ongoing projects. We hope to work together on similar projects in future too.
