Future Funds, simply put, is a fund for the future: for the children.

The best guarantee for a better future, as we see it, is education. Some of us are lucky and privileged to have the opportunity to study and learn. Education is, however, beyond the reach of a very large percentage of our population. Future Funds, through its different activities and projects, aims to make education and learning accessible to this unprivileged section in Nepal (or Kathmandu), to the maximum extent possible.

Future Funds started on November 2002, as an initiative taken by a circle of friends when most of us were a part of WAVE, a Kathmandu based youth magazine. Started with the intention of making contribution to our immediate society, Future Funds has, since 2002, launched several projects that focus on developing the educational environment in Kathmandu.

The starting account of Future Funds was a total of NRs 7,100 collected from (the now discontinued) X-Connexions, a pen friend column in Wave. Since then, several people from all around the world have contributed to our initiative, in cash or in kind.
